It's been a while since we've posted as we've been busy working on expanding our range of products and sourcing exciting new parts for the ultimate in cooling and computer silence.
With the 50 series release imminent, there's been a lot of hype over the new cards coming out. Gamers Nexus has released their video on the 5090 Founder's edition, which puts out some impressive FPS numbers... but also some equally spectacular power figures.
Drawing up to 569W in games like F1 2024, the 5090 is in need of some serious cooling. The stock heatsink is definitely beefier than before but there is concern that this hot air is then being blown onto the CPU, thus being recycled inside the case.
We've had plenty of enquiries about waterblocks for the 50 series and we're just as keen as you to get our hands on some. From what we know so far:
Alphacool
Release late February/early March. Currently planned are blocks for MSI Surpim, Palit + Gainward, Reference boards (with an acrylic and a carbon fibre 1 slot design), Asus TUF and ROG Astral (two separate board designs)
Watercool
Blocks planned for the Palit and Gainward cards. Still yet to receive a Founder's edition to engineer one and an Asus block is a maybe at the moment.
Aquacomputer
Currently planning and deciding which boards to make them for.
Optimus
Will decide which boards to design blocks for. Expected to release March/April.
What about previous generation waterblocks?
As manufacturers are moving to phase out some of these waterblocks, we'll be moving to an order in model. Whilst we anticipate the 50 series to be obscenely expensive, there might be some deals coming up for the Geforce 40 and RX 7X00 cards by retailers and on the second hand market. We can still order blocks in for these cards, just be sure to reach out to us if something happens not to be in stock.
