The next generation - the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water cooler for Radeon RX 7XXX graphics cards. In order to dissipate the enormous waste heat of this generation of graphics cards in the best possible way, numerous optimizations were carried out on the water cooler compared to the previous model. The fin structure has been adapted and enables a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The modified nozzle plate with an improved inflow engine ensures optimal distribution of the water on the cooling fins.
Technical highlights
The fin structure of this ice block cooler generation was developed together with AMD board partners. The fin thickness is 0.4 mm, the distance between the cooling fins is 0.4 mm. This ensures a very good water flow while simultaneously increasing the possible cooling surface. The nozzle plate has a revised inlay that better distributes the water pressure across the fins and optimizes heat absorption. The adjusted water inflow helps the water to have a better inflow angle.
Chrome-plated copper
The cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. Chrome plating is significantly harder than nickel plating and is therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. This completely eliminates the risk of nickel plating flaking off. In addition, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and offers a shine that cannot be achieved with nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have so far only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences have an effect on the coolers.
Design
The Aurora design of the Radeon RX 7XXX ice block generation is visually calmer and simpler. Only one O-ring runs around the entire cooler. The construction around the cooling fins and the jet plate ensures a cleaner look. The lighting from the digitally addressable RGB LEDs is even better distributed in the cooler thanks to the chrome plating. The shape of the terminal corresponds to the classic Aurora design.
Thermal paste & thermal pads
The thermal paste included in the delivery is Alphacool's Subzero. With a thermal conductivity of 16 W/mK, it is one of the most powerful thermal pastes on the market. The electrically non-conductive thermal grease is particularly suitable for high contact pressures, but can still be processed perfectly due to its viscosity of 850,000 TF. Alphacool soft pads with a thickness of 1mm are used on the voltage converters and the graphics memory. The thermal conductivity of the pads is 7 W/mK. The pads for the back of the PCB are 3mm thick and have a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK.

Note on use
Please only use in conjunction with clear, transparent water cooling liquids. The particles and additives in Pastel fluids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. This can result in the manufacturer's warranty also being voided.
